The outdoor view, late summer

It's been months since I've written! But I hope to do some catching up this fall. Lots of news about the new mudroom, Fall gardening, advanced painting techniques, continuing renovation advisories and more.

In the meantime, following on an earlier post, Extending your living space without adding on, here's the view from my dining room window these days (this photo was taken mid August; now the Autumn Joy sedums, far right, are more seasonably "pink").

Planning what you'll see outside your windows not only extends your living space in a "one off" way, it also allows for a changing view.

Here in New England (and elsewhere), by planning gardens with "four season interest," there are always fresh and inviting sights for the eyes, no matter what the weather or time of year. I highly recommend it! I'll be writing more about how to do it soon, Fall being a great time to plan and plant your garden!

Till soon!
